CNN’s Dana Bash found herself in an awkward moment on live television while reporting on Elon Musk’s latest social media antics. The veteran anchor, in a notably serious tone, struggled as she was forced to read Musk’s new alias, “Harry Bōlz,” aloud.
The DOGE leader and free speech advocate changed his social media handle. While Musk’s critics predictably clutched their pearls, his supporters saw it as yet another example of his unfiltered approach to challenging mainstream narratives.
Bash, clearly uncomfortable, read Musk’s alias verbatim before pivoting to his latest post.
“Now, the disruptor-in-chief, Elon Musk, who apparently has adopted the alias, at least he changed his social media handle to ‘Harry Bōlz,’ tweeted this morning: ‘Democracy in America is being destroyed by judicial coup,’” Bash said.
The statement comes in response to the growing number of judges blocking Trump-era policies, with five rulings issued in just one day. One of those decisions, by Judge Amy Berman Jackson, struck down the firing of ethics watchdog Hampton Dellinger.
