A US Congressman has revealed a startling admission about what the government allegedly knows about extraterrestrial life.

Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) said recent briefings have left him convinced that what the government knows is far more alarming than people realize.

“I’ve been briefed by just about every alphabet agency there is. And, I’ll just say this, if they were to release the things that I’ve seen, you’d be up at night, worrying about, thinking about this stuff,” he told Newsmax host Rob Finnerty.

A Briefing That Could “Unglue” The Country

Burchett, who sits on the House Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets, said he was informed just two weeks ago about an issue involving aliens that could have explosive consequences if made public.

“They would demand answers,” he said, adding that the information “would have set the Earth” on fire and “unglued” the country.

When asked about claims from former Rep. Matt Gaetz regarding alleged alien-human hybrid programs, Burchett refused to go into detail.

“I’m still a member of Congress, so I can’t really comment too much on what Matt said,” he told the interviewer.

“Wait, seriously?” Finnerty pressed. “I’m being 100% serious,” Burchett responded.

Despite this, the congressman made it clear he supports transparency. “The public has a right to know, dadgummit, it’s your tax dollars. Let’s get it out there,” he said.

Claims of Secrecy and Control Inside Government

Burchett also spoke about secrecy within government agencies.

“When I’m in a meeting, in a closed-door meeting, and I ask about the president’s points on these. And then I’m told by some arrogant, unelected bureaucrat that the president is on a need-to-know basis. I think that says everything it needs to be said about what’s going on,” he said.

He compared the flow of information to “layers of the onion,” adding that each level reveals more hidden detail.

“When I sit in a meeting, and some little punk with a man bun is sort of running the show, and you have decorated officer military officers in the meeting there that are basically unallowed to say anything, and you can read their faces,” he shared.

Burchett also mentioned the mysterious incidents involving experts in the field.

“There are no coincidences in this town. These folks have disappeared or died mysteriously,” he said. “I think overall, I think there is a connection there. People just do not disappear… not in this day and age.

“For the record, I’m not suicidal, and I don’t take risks,” he added.

Obama’s Offers a More Cautious View

Former President Barack Obama has previously spoken about alien life.

Speaking on Brian Tyler Cowen’s podcast, he said: “They’re real, but I haven’t seen them… They’re not being kept in Area 51, there’s no underground facility, unless there’s this enormous conspiracy and they hid it from the president of the United States.”

He acknowledged that unexplained aerial phenomena do exist: “But what is true, and I’m actually being serious here, is that there’s footage and records of objects in the skies that we don’t know exactly what they are.”

Later clarifying his remarks, Obama wrote: “I was trying to stick with the spirit of the speed round, but since it’s gotten attention let me clarify.

“Statistically, the universe is so vast that the odds are good there’s life out there. But the distances between solar systems are so great that the chances we’ve been visited by aliens is low, and I saw no evidence during my presidency that extraterrestrials have made contact with us. Really!” he added.

Burchett’s claims come after President Donald Trump pledged to release government files related to UFOs and extraterrestrial life.

“Based on the tremendous interest shown,” Trump wrote, per the New York Post. “I will be directing the Secretary of War, and other relevant Departments and Agencies, to begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters.”

Following that announcement, domains including aliens.gov and alien.gov were registered by the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.
