As the Senate votes on Trump’s ‘big, beautiful bill’, Musk has teased that he will launch a political party to rival the Republicans

As Elon Musk continues to condemn President Donald Trump’s ‘big, beautiful bill’, the 79-year-old has issued a fiery message to his former ‘first buddy’.

Yesterday (June 30), the world’s richest man ramped up his criticism by vowing to punish lawmakers that back the Republican’s spending bill – which at the time of writing is currently being voted on in the Senate.

The Trump administration has been trying to force it through before Friday (July 4), Independence Day, but it must wait anxiously with debating anticipated to last 20 hours – as senators can propose unlimited amendments to the bill that the POTUS holds so dearly.

The spending bill is almost 1,000 pages-long and is crucial to the Trump’s agenda.

It features an increase in defense spending, including Trump’s ambition to implement a ‘Golden Dome’ above the US which would protect it from enemy missiles, as well as offering multi-trillion dollar tax breaks.

However, at the same time it is estimated to add a further $3.3 trillion to America’s mountain of debt that currently sits at $36.2 trillion.

With Musk having accepted a role as a ‘special government employee’ with the US Government to reduce federal spending, it undermined his role as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Now, as the debate continues in the US Capitol building, Musk took to Twitter to threaten those that voted in favor of his former pal’s bill rue having done so.

“Anyone who campaigned on the PROMISE of REDUCING SPENDING, but continues to vote on the BIGGEST DEBT ceiling increase in HISTORY will see their face on this poster in the primary next year,” he posted.

Trump has since issued a scathing response to Musk – who he described as a ‘wonderful’ and ‘smart’ guy in an interview conducted by Fox News last week.

Taking to Truth Social, he posted: “Elon Musk knew, long before he so strongly Endorsed me for President, that I was strongly against the EV Mandate. It is ridiculous, and was always a major part of my campaign. Electric cars are fine, but not everyone should be forced to own one.

“Elon may get more subsidy than any human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa. No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE.

“Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard, look at this? BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!”

To which Musk responded over on Twitter: “I am literally saying CUT IT ALL. Now.”

If the bill does get passed it will have to go back to the House of Representatives for a second time – where it only just passed by one vote last time.

Trump has seemingly been doing everything to try to convince his fellow politicians to pass the bill.

“Republicans, the One Big Beautiful Bill, perhaps the greatest and most important of its kind in history, gives the largest Tax Cuts and Border Security ever, Jobs by the Millions, Military/Vets increases, and so much more,” he posted on Truth Social last night.

“The failure to pass means a whopping 68% Tax increase, the largest in history!!!”

But that may not be Trump’s only fear, as his former bestie has teased once more that he will set up a rival political party… although he may not have to worry with his second term coming to an end in 2029.

Musk tweeted: “It is obvious with the insane spending of this bill, which increases the debt ceiling by a record FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS that we live in a one-party country – the PORKY PIG PARTY!!

“Time for a new political party that actually cares about the people.”
