President Donald Trump has received a response from Vladimir Putin after he branded him ‘crazy’ in an online post.
We all know that the two powers have not been seeing eye-to-eye since the POTUS took to office just this year. But things are heating up.
On May 24, Russia launched an overnight attack on Ukraine, leading to Ukraine’s Air Force reporting 298 drones and 69 cruise and ballistic missiles being fired at the country from 8.40pm local time that day.
With the attack reportedly injuring dozens and killing at least 12, including three children, Trump made his feelings on the issue very clear…but it came with backlash from Russia.

The US president took to Truth Social on May 26, and said: “I’ve always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia, but something has happened to him. He has gone absolutely CRAZY!”
He added: “He is needlessly killing a lot of people, and I’m not just talking about soldiers. Missiles and drones are being shot into Cities in Ukraine, for no reason whatsoever. I’ve always said that he wants ALL of Ukraine, not just a piece of it, and maybe that’s proving to be right, but if he does, it will lead to the downfall of Russia!”
Considering this was the biggest attack on Ukraine since Russia invaded the country back in 2022, his words have been supported by his followers in the comments.
One person wrote: “Biden was never in charge! The world took advantage of it! What a bad time!”
Another supported: “Thank you Mr. President. Praying for peace.”
Someone else wrote: “Lord Jesus , I ask that you would give President Trump great wisdom to deal with Vladimir Putin. And I pray for peace.”
However, Putin did not take this sitting down, and issued his own scathing response.

Russia suggested that Trump is suffering from an ‘emotional overload’ after his social media post, with Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov explaining, as per PA: “We are really grateful to the Americans and to President Trump personally for their assistance in organizing and launching this negotiation process.
“Of course, at the same time, this is a very crucial moment, which is associated, of course, with the emotional overload of everyone absolutely and with emotional reactions.”
Is Trump being emotional?
Who can say, but he surely didn’t hold back when it came to slating both parties of the war.
Online, his rampage against Putin wasn’t without strays towards his Ukrainian nemesis.
Trump raged on: “Likewise, President Zelenskyy is doing his Country no favors by talking the way he does. Everything out of his mouth causes problems, I don’t like it, and it better stop. This is a War that would never have started if I were President.
“This is Zelenskyy’s, Putin’s, and Biden’s War, not ‘Trump’s,’ I am only helping to put out the big and ugly fires, that have been started through Gross Incompetence and Hatred.”
While it’s not known what impact this social media post will have on the peace talks between the two nations, the response was certainly something to behold.
