In big news for those on the MAGA side of politics who were hoping that he might do something to take down far-left funder of equally far-left causes George Soros, Trump’s Federal Communication Commission (FCC) just launched an investigation into one of the dozens of radio stations backed by Soros. The FCC alleges that they illegally broadcasted the locations of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.
As background, in 2024 Soros purchased over 200 radio stations, many of them Spanish language ones, using some foreign investment to do so. Those radio stations not only cover a swathe of American media markets, but allow Soros to send messages to millions of people. Such came up recently with one such station he owns, and why the investigation started.
That station was San Francisco-based KCBS 740 AM. It came under fire for broadcasting the live locations of both personnel and vehicles that were working undercover for ICE and conducting deportation operations in the area surrounding California’s San Jose.
As Fox News Digital reports, the host of KCBS 740 AM said, in the broadcast in question, “The Santa Clara County Rapid Response Network, which is a community defense projecting system for immigrant communities against deportation threats, first report the activity on its platforms.” The host then went on to reveal, Fox News Digital reports, the specific make, model, and color of unmarked vehicles working with ICE, along with the exact location of several vehicles.
Now the FCC is investigating that radio station. As reported by Fox News Digital, thee FCC’s Enforcement Bureau has sent a formal Letter of Inquiry to KCBS 740 AM and is now investigating it. According to the letter, the Enforcement Bureau is investigation whether the station violated the terms of its FCC license. That requires that the station operate in the “public interest.”
In describing why the station might not have been in compliance with that license provision, the formal letter from the FCC Enforcement Bureau notes that the station had been broadcasting the undercover ICE locations when the ICE agents were attempting to combat violent gang activity in the San Jose area.
Federal Communication Commission chairman Brendan Carr spoke about the matter to Fox News Digital, first thanking DHS and ICE agents for their service and saying, “I want to express my thanks and appreciation to DHS and ICE agents. These law enforcement professionals are honorably serving this country and carrying out vital missions.”
